HONG KONG, Dec. 1 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- Elcoteq Beijing won a series of awards in the 'Olympics Contribution Competition' organized by the committees of the Beijing Economic and Technological Development Area (BDA). The awards were given for brilliant contribution the company made to engage their people in the Olympic atmosphere and cheerleading activities during the 2008 Olympic Games.

The awards were conferred to Elcoteq Beijing by BDA committees on 4th November. The BDA General Labor Union issued the 'Advanced Collectivity' award to Elcoteq Beijing, 'Excellent Individual' award and 'Advanced Individual' award, respectively, to 5 and 6 Elcoteq employees. In addition, Beijing Municipal Economic and Technological Development Zone Committee and BDA Management Committee jointly issued the 'Advanced Collectivity' award to Elcoteq Beijing and 'Excellent Individual' award to 2 of Elcoteq employees for our contribution especially in 'Torch Relay'.

Elcoteq Beijing was established in 2000 in China, which employs around 2000 people, is one of Elcoteq's four volume manufacturing plants in the Asia-Pacific region. The plant specializes in box build and sub-assembly manufacturing for communications products such as RF modules, mobile phones, mobile phone base stations controllers (2G/2.5G/3G), data processing units, switching products and 3G interface boards. The company supports Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) with manufacturing services, as well as fully integrated solutions comprised of collaborative design, engineering services (ES), sourcing, demand and supply chain management, and after-sales services (product repair and product recycling) for their products' entire lifecycle. More than 200 volunteers from Elcoteq Beijing were selected by the committee to join the cheerleading squad in the Beijing 2008 Olympics and Paralympics respectively during August and September.
