US Focus on Asian Resources

USA, the only super power, continues to display its military cum terror might to the world and promote arms deals around the world by involving its terror power in regional conflicts voluntarily. In continuation of old "Coldwar" animocity, the US and South Korea -the terror NATO allies in East Asia - have been seeking to weaken North Korea for its efforts for nukes; they now try to penalize Pyongyang after a South Korean investigation concluded that North Korea was responsible for the attack. Pyongyang has denied any involvement. Thus, denounced by Pyongyang as a “reckless provocation”, a large-scale US-South Korean naval exercise that begins on 24 July in the Sea of Japan near North Korea has inflamed tensions in what has been for more than half a century a dangerous flashpoint in North East Asia. Both North Korea and China have voiced their opposition. The terror war games codenamed “Invincible Spirit” are specifically aimed against North Korea over its alleged sinking of the South Korean warship, the Cheonan, in March with the loss of 46 sailors. The US-led UN Command formally notified North Korea of plans to hold another joint US-South Korean military exercise at unspecified locations from August 16 to August 26.

US terror strategists consider it the American prerogative to gain access to global resources. Already West, South abnd Central Asian resources are already r under effective control of Washington and its terror allies. The tough US stance in South Korea is in part a response to the US failure to obtain a UN Security Council resolution condemning North Korea over the Cheonan sinking and imposing new penalties. China opposed US moves against NK. US terror commanders will retain operational control of their joint military forces in South Korea until at least December 2015. US Military terror secretary Robert Gates and home terror Secretary Hillary Clinton were in South Korea last week to meet with their South Korean counterparts. Naming China as their “potential aggressor”, Gates declared the visits were intended “to send a strong signal to the North, to the region and to the world that our commitment to South Korea’s security is steadfast.”

Earlier, US Obama made an unusually blunt criticism of China at the G20 summit in June, accusing Chinese President Hu Jintao of “willful blindness” over North Korea’s alleged provocations. The differences between the US and China over North Korea are part of their broader rivalry throughout Asia and internationally. The economic rise and continued growth of China threaten to eclipse the US in North East Asia where major US allies—Japan, South Korea and Taiwan—are all heavily dependent on trade with China. The frictions were also evident at the recent Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN) Regional Forum in Vietnam.

With a usual eye on energy resources, USA now claims to be a Pacific nation. Clinton, who has championed a more aggressive US stance in Asia, has declared that American future is intimately tied to that of the Asia-Pacific. Washington achieved a small diplomatic victory, securing entry into the East Asian Summit (ASEAN plus China, Japan and South Korea). USA is pressing for free navigation in the South China Sea which Beijing regards as particularly sensitive to its strategic interests. The bulk of China’s oil shipments from the Middle East and Africa pass through the area. The US intervention in the South China Sea controversy is particularly provocative. China, Vietnam, the Philippines and Malaysia all have claims to all or part of the Spratlys, a chain of small reefs and islets in waters that are both strategically located and believed to hold undersea oil reserves. Obama is keen to resume relations with Indonesia’s Special Forces, despite the unit’s history of alleged atrocities and assassinations, and this is the most significant move yet by the USA to strengthen ties in East Asia as a hedge against China’s rise.

The terror threat exercise involves around 20 South Korean and US warships, including the nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS George Washington, 200 aircraft, advanced F-22 fighters, and 8,000 military personnel. This massive show of force far exceeds what is required to deal with any threat from the North Korean navy. The South Korean media initially reported that the exercise would take place in the Yellow Sea—that is, to the west of the Korean Peninsula and close to the Chinese mainland. Beijing, however, reacted angrily to what it regarded as a direct security threat. China held a live-fire naval exercise in the East China Sea—to the south of the Korean Peninsula—from June 3 to July 5, involving a large number of fighters, including a submarine launching a cruise missile, saying that the drills’ purpose was to carry out “long-distance attacks”.

As US economic crisis continues ot haunt Amercian status and prestige as the top most power, many sother cpatlalist nations come foreward to ease US econimc stress. Japan, a close NATO ally of unilateral USA, a top fund giver to Washington and an immoral aspirant of the notorious UNSC with a veto, is also ready to involve itself in the “terror game” by dispatching four Japanese “observers” to participate in Invincible Spirit, on board the USS George Washington. It is the first time that military officers of Japan, which maintained a brutal colonial rule over Korea from 1895 to 1945, have taken part in a US-South Korean military exercise. The Clinton announced new sanctions against North Korea, including sanctions to freeze more North Korean overseas assets. She also pledged that the US would provide “a stalwart defense” of South Korea.

Many Asian powers like China, Japan and India have been liberal in releasing sumptuous funds to USA on secret understanings for return favors. China entered the WTO crawling, but without US assistnace, it would never have been in it. Even as it imports money form Beijing, Washingotn, at the same time, tries to control China by using all available tools at its disposal, including India. China has long given up ideology - even much before Russia did it openly in 1980s. On invitation from USA, China has enlarged its trade zones in oclcupied Afghanistan and Iraq. Washingotn even bullied India to sign the nuclearism deal in favor of USA and its terror allies and began helping the NATO teror syndicate operating in Afghanistan. US concentration on East Asian resources is not an isolate agenda of Washinton, but only a part of its global scheming for looting the weak nations of their resources.

From Dr. Abdul Ruff Colachal: Specialist on State Terrorism; Chronicler of Freedom movements (Palestine, Kashmir, etc); Independent Columnist in International Affairs, Research Scholar (JNU) & the only Asian to have gone through entire India, a fraud and terror nation in South Asia. Fake democracies like USA and India have zero tolerance to any criticism of their anti-Muslim and other aggressive practices. Terrorism is indeed caused by anti-Islamic forces. Anti-Muslimism and anti-Islamism are as dangerous as "terrorism". Truth does not require political or ideological correctness, not even selectively. Muslims supporting anti-Islamism are as much criminals as the global anti-Muslims are. Anti-Islamic forces & terrorists are using criminal elements for terrorizing the world and they are harming genuine interests of ordinary Muslims. We have many hypocrites among Muslims.
