Time has Runout for Fascist Israel in Mideast (Part 27)

For decades now, US presidents, wearing decent-looking democracy veils but essentially purisng anti-Islmaic agenda, have invited the Zionist allies-leaders to talk with defenceless Palestinians, eventually to call the Palestinians the terrorists and to threaten them budge and subserve the US-Israeli interests in the region, while in real terms Washngotn is only assisting the Israeli terror regime to pursue massacres and proliferation of illegal settlements in Palestine. And, again, US President Barack Obama has decided to meet 5 leaders on Mideast crisis and invited Palestinian Authority (Fatah) President Mahmoud Abbas the Terror PM of the Israeli regime B. Netanyahu to Washington for the US-sponsored talks on 02 September. For the direct Washington “talks”, the first in 20 months, Obama has also invited blockade President Mubarak of Egypt and King Abdullah of Jordan to attend the talks. Also, Tony Blair, the special representative of the Middle East Quartet - which comprises the US, the UN, the EU and Russia - has also been invited.

The Quartet has assured Abbas of positive results for the “talks” but then Abbas also needs this assurance from the global dictators led by the USA to justify a resumption of talks that ended after the December 2008 Israeli terror invasion of Gaza, killing thousands of defenseless Palestinians, including children and women. The Quartet has issued a statement calling for talks that "lead to a settlement... that ends the occupation which began in 1967 and results in the emergence of an independent, democratic and viable Palestinian state living side by side in peace and security with Israel and its other neighbors".

So, a decade after the last real final-status “talks” and after months of shuttle diplomacy by the Obama administration, M. Abbas and B. Netanyahu will come to face to face for dinner and talks in Washington. On 20 August 2010 Israel and the Palestinians have agreed to resume direct negotiations for the first time in 20 months, US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has said. Abbas have been invited to Washington on 2 September to start the talks. They have agreed to place a one-year time limit on the direct negotiations. Mrs Clinton's announcement comes after months of shuttling by US special envoy George Mitchell between Netanyahu and Abbas. Mitchell said the US would be prepared to submit bridging proposals if the two sides failed to make progress.

In recent times, Abbas resisted US overtures to resume direct talks, saying he wanted guarantees that a future Palestinian state would be based on the borders that existed before the 1967 Middle East war, and that all settlement construction in the West Bank and East Jerusalem would stop immediately. Netanyahu meanwhile insisted for many weeks that he was ready to come to the negotiating table, but without "preconditions" and this was repeated by Mrs. Clinton. Considering the fanatic swings in Israeli regime on freeze of illegal Jewish settlements in Palestine, it will be a huge challenge to get them to agree on final status issues, all with security guarantees for both sides.

Following the Israeli terror attack on the aidship towards Gaza Strip with essntials from Turkey, Israel was foreced by the international outcry to “relax” the Zionist terror holdof Gaza. The Israeli cabinet's decision to relax some restrictions on goods entering Gaza seems vague and contains little detail. Everything will depend upon how it is implemented. It certainly falls far short of a full-scale lifting of the blockade demanded by many foreign governments. It also seems to fall short of a fundamental reassessment on the part of Israel itself.

Considering the nature and real motives of the Zionist regime in killing Palestinians and proliferating the illegal settlements, the prospects of a comprehensive deal are seen to be too slim, as serious disagreements exist on core issues - including the construction of Jewish settlements, the status of Jerusalem, the borders of a future Palestinian state and the right of return. Abbas broke off talks with the previous Israeli terror PM, Ehud Olmert, in late 2008 and contacts were frozen following Israel's offensive against the ruling Hamas movement in the Gaza Strip in December that year.

There has been a notable silence amongst the majority of the Middle East regimes since they see a big US rat in the proposal to resume the “talks” that are being held only to placate the US tactics to be an honest broker in the Israel-Palestinian conflict without sincerity. The Middle East Quartet made up of the USA, the UN, the EU and Russia has confirmed that “talks” would take place in Washington on September 2. The meeting is the product of massive pressure placed upon the PA regime by the US to go along with a diplomatic charade. The Quartet offered Abbas a suitable cover, with references to a comprehensive settlement ending Israel’s occupation and resulting in “the emergence of an independent, democratic and viable Palestinian state” within a year.

In his first comments about planned direct talks between the two sides, Israeli terror cum blockade PM B. Netanyahu has insisted that the negotiations could only be successful if Israel's interests were protected, but he said that reaching agreement with Palestinians will be "difficult but possible". The illegal settler inside Palestine Netanyahu said Palestinians must accept Israel as the state of the Jewish people and its security must be guaranteed. Netanyahu told an Israeli cabinet meeting on 20 August that the Israelis are talking about a peace agreement between deadly militarized Israel and a demilitarised Palestinian state. If state is “established at the end of the process”, it is meant to end the conflict and not to be a foundation for its continuation by other means. During the past 17 years since the start of the Oslo (peace) process, the Zionist regime has killed thousands of defenseless Palestinians with US-UK support.

Enjoying full control over the sea waters of the region after having been imposed in Mideast by the UK-US rogues in 1948, Israel behaves like owners of the region and has now woved to attack any aidship going to Palestine/Gaza. Meanwhile, the Palestinian ambassador to Russia said that fifty armored personnel carriers sent by Russia to the Palestinian National Authority are stuck in Jordan because of Israeli red tape. Russia sent the armored personnel carriers to the PNA in June. The vehicles have to be delivered to the PNA's administrative capital of Ramallah via Jordan.

The US special envoy, George Mitchell, said the location and timing of the next round of talks would be discussed during the Washington meetings. Hillary Clinton spoke about obstacles along the way - the first one may well be getting the two parties to agree to a second round of talks on key issues. Beyond that, there is still a blank. If the Obama administration wants peace within a year, there will need to be more substance soon.
